Indian School Sur was founded in 1989 with 75 students, 3 teachers with classes KG to I Class, in a rented building. The school has achieved consistent and steady growth over the decades. The first batch of CBSE class X appeared for the Board examination in 2009.The school has been upgraded to the Senior Secondary level in 2011. Science stream is offered at the Senior Secondary level. Since 2008, the school is functioning in a spacious building that is equipped with 40 class rooms, full- fledged Science laboratories, Computer lab, Audio Visual labs and a library. Play ground with game courts, play area for the KG, parking area and gardening yard are the added facilities. At present, the school caters to the educational needs of 1047 children of the expatriate community residing in and around Sur. 36 teachers render their valuable service to the school.
